Hitting me like a ton of bricks came this verse by Moroni that reads, “Behold, I speak unto you as if ye were present, and yet ye are not. But behold, Jesus Christ hath shown you unto me, and I know your doing.” There as clear as day I was mentioned! Creepy to think Moroni, an ancient American prophet, was looking at me from the past, yet astounding! Moroni saw me? That was his claim!
Moroni is an ancient prophet who lived in the ancient Americas from a nation of people called the Nephites. Moroni witnessed a powerful vision of the Savior Jesus Christ--adding his testimony to the world as proof that Jesus is a resurrected person. Not only do the apostles testify of Jesus Christ's divinity at Jerusalem through the Bible, but Moroni testifies of Jesus Christ's resurrection through the Book of Mormon on another continent!
God gave Moroni visions of the future of the world in connection to the Americas and beyond. Because of this connection, Moroni included certain writings in his record that provide spiritual insight and learning to the world in these last days before Jesus Christ's return. Those writings are to help change the hearts of people towards the divinity of Jesus Christ.
